Heavy rain prior to and during the weekend of the 22nd & 23rd failed to dampen the enthusiasm

Heavy rain prior to and during the weekend of the 22nd & 23rd failed to dampen the enthusiasm of the Manx contingent at the Championships held at Deanfoot, Denholm near Hawick. The organisers were unlucky with the weather and 10 days prior to the event, the nearby river flooded and covered part of the site.

#Colin_Duggan made his debut at the Scottish this year and took his Super Dexta and Ransome plough, with TCN bodies, to compete in the Classic class. He was unlucky with the draw in the fact that his plot was in the area previously flooded and once he had completed his split, water was already gathering in the furrow bottom, as steady rain fell. Despite this, his bye come together well and he was pleased with his ploughing and he ended up with 10th place overall, out of a class of 29.

Also ploughing was #John_Costain, who had more luck here than at the British. John ploughed well to take3rd place in the Vintage Trailed class.
