Please could all trophies should be returned to the Society by Saturday 4th November 2017 at the latest.


Note: competitors who does not collect their prizes at the presentation will forfeit those prizes.


Safety Policy

  • 1. No passengers are to be carried on any tractor or plough, at any time whilst on the site.
  • 2. Any person not 13 years of age on the match day will not be allowed to enter or compete.
  • 3. All competitors under 16 years of age on the match day must: be supervised by a responsible adult, when competing, have been trained to use the equipment, be able to operate all control easily and properly.
  • 4. All competitors must have adequate 3rd party liability insurance and the Society may request to view the insurance certificate.
  • 5. All competitors must act in a responsible manner when on the site and consider how their actions may impact on themselves, other competitors and spectators.

Rules

  • 1. Competitors may not start ploughing before 10:30am.
  • 2. Ploughing to finish at 3:00pm. Competitors not finished by 3:00pm will be disqualified from all ploughing prizes.
  • 3. A double opening split with no land left unturned must be ploughed in classes 2, 3 and 4. Time allowed 20 mins.
  • 4. The bye shall consist of 11/12 furrows (3 rounds for tractors or 6 rounds for horses).
  • 5. Competitors must cast towards the neighbouring butt with the higher number and where there is no neighbouring butt, an extra fifteen minutes will be allowed for setting out the sight marks.
  • 6. Each competitor shall be allowed 2 rounds to straighten when casting.
  • 7. If there is a significant straightening adjustment required, the competitor should contact an official of the Society.
  • 8. The 2 runs against the neighbouring butt will not be judged unless they are deemed unnecessary untidy, when they will form part of the general appearance points.
  • 9. A competitor must not drive on another competitors ploughing at any time.
  • 10. The clash shall consist of the last 8 furrows (2 rounds)
  • 11. The last furrow must be thrown towards the competitors own bye.
  • 12. Only one wheel mark must be visible.
  • 13. Rolling with the tractor wheels is not permitted.
